“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever SING FOR JOY, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.”

Theme: Those Who Exult God’s Name Must Sing For Joy.
Text: Psalm 5:11
Intro: Those who love your name must have a "covenant loyalty" before God. Here are some criteria for exulting God’s name:
I. Let all who trust in God must rejoice.
From the root meaning primarily "bright". Proverbs 13:9 "The light of the righteous rejoiceth."
A. Rejoice in God’s goodness
B. Rejoice in God’s trustworthiness
C. Rejoice in God’s strength
Why: 1 Peter 1:8
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
II. Let all who trust in God must sing for joy. Psalm 40:3
A. A new song in my mouth
B. Even praise unto our God
C. Many shall see it and fear
The result: and shall trust in the Lord
How: Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
III. Let all who trust in God must be confident of His protection.
A. Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1
B. My refuge and my fortress Psalm 91:2
C. Under His wings - Psalm 91:4
D. Shield and buckler - e.g. truth
When: Psalms 27:3
Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Conclusion:
Psalms 18:2
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
